Fall season means pumpkin season as well (even if it’s still 80 degrees in south Florida)! Who loves pumpkin as much as I do?  There are so many benefits to pumpkin and many ways to enjoy it. Pumpkin can help regulate blood pressure, reduce risk of cancer (prostate, breast, and colon), protect against macular degeneration, and improve immune system function.

If you’re always on the go, a quick way to enjoy pumpkin is by blending it into a shake with plant based protein. I created an amazing pumpkin protein shake with adaptogens to nourish my body and help my body to adapt during stress. Hope you enjoy it as well!

Pumpkin Spice Protein Shake with Adaptogens:

1 serving of plant based protein

8 oz of vanilla or chocolate plant based milk (I used coconut milk)

1/2 frozen banana

1 tbsp pumpkin purée (not pumpkin pie mix)

1/2 tsp pumpkin spice

1/2 tsp ashwagandha powder

1/2 tsp lion’s mane powder

1/2 tsp maca powder

Put all ingredients into a blender with 3-6 ice cubes, blend until smooth. Top with extra pumpkin spice and enjoy!
